Shazak is the name of the artisan Sofia Haccoun-Zakabloukowa, a saddle and harness maker and upholsterer. Trained by the Compagnons du Devoir, she founded Atelier Shazak in 2016, specializing in the art of bespoke leatherwork, and moved to the JAD in 2022, where she now has a studio. Dedicated to bespoke creation—from prototyping to the production of one-of-a-kind pieces or limited editions—Atelier Shazak puts its expertise at the service of creators from all walks of life.
Traditional saddlery, harness-making, fashion, furniture and interior design, film and theater, etc… Atelier Shazak applies its expertise with versatility, exploring the boundaries of its craft both technically and aesthetically. Research and experimentation fuel its projects, which flirt with art and illustrate its creative approach centered on crafted leather, enhanced by the use of traditional techniques, adapted from other materials, or derived from new technologies.
Atelier Shazak works exclusively with leathers sourced in Europe, primarily vegetable-tanned. Environmental concerns and the creation of timeless, durable pieces are at the heart of its philosophy. Atelier Shazak is a member of Ateliers d’Art de France and holds the Hauts-de-Seine Artisan du Tourisme certification.
